Né à Tel Aviv, Israël, Ephraïm Laor a été diplômé du Peabody Conservatory de Baltimore où il       étudiait le piano avec Léon Fleisher grâce à une bourse spéciale du Conseil National d'Israël pour la Culture et les Arts.

Léon Fleisher  a eu une influence majeure sur son approche de la musique.

Ephraïm Laor fut l'un des rares à avoir le privilège de jouer pour le Maître Arthur Rubinstein au Jerusalem Music Center. Il a également participé à des master classes avec des artistes aussi renommés que Gina Bachauer, Murray Perahia, Claude Frank, ou Georgy Sebok.

Il est également diplômé avec mention de la Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance où il a étudié le piano avec Benjamin Oren, Yahli Wagman, et Sonia Valin, et a obtenu des bourses de la Fondation Culturelle Israelo-Américaine et de l'Académie.

Il se produit fréquemment en Europe, aux Etats-Unis, au Brésil et en Israël, où il a également enregistré pour la radio nationale.

Tout récemment, il a été le premier artiste invité à donner un récital et des master classes pour l'International Edward Aldwell Center for Piano Performance and Musicianship de Jérusalem.

Il a enseigné le piano au Peabody Conservatory Department à Baltimore de 1980 à 1990, et enseigne aujourd'hui à l'Ecole Nationale de Musique d'Issy-les-Moulineaux (92).

Born in Tel  Aviv, Israel, Ephraim Laor received his M. Mus. with honors  from the Peabody Conservatory de Baltimore, USA, were he studied piano with Leon Fleisher on special scholarship from the Israel National Council for the Culture and the Arts. Leon Fleisher has had the greatest influence on his approach and musical thinking.

Mr. Laor was among the very few who have been chosen to play for Maestro Arthur Rubinstein at the Jerusalem Music Center. He also played in master-classes for such prominent artists as Gina Bachauer, Murray Perahia, Claude Frank, and Georgy Sebok.

Mr. Laor holds a B. Mus. Cuma Sum Laude from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, where he studied piano with Benjamin Oren, Yahli Wagman, and Sonia Valin, and won scholarships from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation as well the Academy.

He performs extensively, in Europe, North  America, Brazil and Israel, where he also recorded for the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

Most recently, he was the first artist invited to play and give master-classes for the newly-created International Edward Aldwell Center for Piano Performance and Musicianship in Jerusalem, Israel.

A former piano faculty at the Peabody Conservatory Preparatory Department (1980—1990), Mr. Laor currently teaches at the Ecole Nationale de Musique d'Issy-les-Moulineaux. He lives in Paris.
